About Us
In August of 1981, a small group of professionals and seminary students met in an apartment in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago to pray about starting a church. Led by two students from the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School , the group was officially organized as a church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in 1982.

From 1982 to 1993, the church met in rented spaces in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. In December 1993, the church purchased the former All Saints Cathedral in the Bucktown neighborhood. Bucktown remains our home today.

sanctuaryCovenant seeks to both experience and live out the renewing grace of Christ through worship, teaching, relationships and outreach. The natural outcome of truly experiencing grace is to be propelled outward; to follow Jesus is always to follow him into his mission. So, alongside ministries that focus on congregational care, Covenant is also committed to provide resources and support to broader ministry efforts in our city and our world.

In the Fall of 2009, Covenant planted her first daughter church, Lincoln Square Presbyterian Church
